Founded by Elaine G. Levine and Janis Dickman in June 2009, L&D represents clients primarily in the areas of Family Law and Wills/Trusts and Probate. Each of us has over 20 years of experience. We are dedicated, knowledgeable and compassionate about our work. We are committed to providing top quality legal services for our clients. Elaine and Janis have known each other since the mid-1980s and have worked together on matters for numerous mutual clients over the past 20 years. By combining our practices, we are able to provide a continuum of service to address the complexities of life - from birth to death.

With over 600 individuals/families as clients, we are strategically positioned to assist people with a variety of personal needs - in the trusts & estates arena -- from end of life planning, estate tax evaluations and minimization, probate and wills and trusts; in the family law arena -- from adoption to guardianship, prenuptial agreements, divorce (both collaborative and hotly litigated and everything in-between), child custody and child support modification and enforcement.
A bit about Janis
Attorney Janis Dickman is a dedicated advocate for her clients. As a former social worker and educator with over 20 years as a family law attorney, Janis understands the needs and issues facing families as they adopt, join together as spouses or partners, marry, separate, divorce and remarry. She aggressively pursues the best possible resolution for her clients - whether through collaboration, negotiation, mediation or at trial. Janis will take the time to explain the process, the law and the potential benefits and pitfalls of each path for the client to consider. Janis advises her clients based on her knowledge and experience so that together they can make smart decisions, take action, and achieve favorable outcomes.
A bit about Elaine
Attorney Elaine Levine brings to her clients a unique approach developed over the past 20 years in her own firm - she typically meets her clients at their homes or offices so that the clients can make decisions in a relaxed, comfortable and private way. In addition, Elaine becomes more familiar with the family and the lifestyles of the family members by meeting in the environment in which her clients live or work. Clients who complete their Wills with Elaine are free to consult with her at no fee periodically by telephone or email regarding a variety of personal or legal issues or challenges.
Our Pledge
Our clients work only with us – experienced attorneys, Elaine and Janis – not with junior attorneys or paralegals. We answer all client calls and emails ourselves, period.
